On December 15, 2017, the New York State Police Riverside Barracks, with the assistance of the Village of Southampton Police Department, arrested David Trotman, age 32, of the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, as a result of an ongoing State Police investigation. Investigation revealed that Mr. Trotman was found to have been in the possession of three stolen vehicles, all of which were stolen within the confines of the Village of Southampton. During the course of the investigation, two of these vehicles were recovered on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation and the third was recovered from a local train station. Through investigative efforts, the State Police were able to link Mr. Trotman to all three stolen vehicles.
Mr. Trotman was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession Stolen Property third degree (D- Felony). He was arraigned at Southampton Town Court and was remanded to the Suffolk County jail on $25,000.00 cash bail. He is due back in court on December 20, 2017.
