Saranac Lake man charged with forgery

On February 1, 2018, State Police arrested 24-year-old Timothy W. Besaw of Saranac Lake for a forgery. The forgery originally was reported on April 12, 2016, by a 23-year-old female of Plattsburgh, who reported that Besaw attempted to cash one of her checks which was forged and written out to himself for $400.
 
Besaw was incarcerated as a result of a felony DWI conviction. A warrant was lodged at the Marcy Correctional Facility where Besaw was being held. Upon his release from prison he was arrested and charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree (D felony). He was arraigned in the Town of Peru Court, where he was released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear in the Town of Plattsburgh court on February 1, 2018, at 4 p.m.
