New Haven, CT pair arrested with 10 pounds of Marihuana after vehicle runs out of gas

Clarkstown, NY – On February 26, 2018, at approximately 2:49 p.m., State Police stopped to assist a disabled vehicle which ran out of gas on I-87, in the town of Clarkstown. During the interview of the driver Rojay K. Kidd, age 24, of New Haven, CT and his passenger Jason J. Blair, age 27, also from New Haven, CT probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established after the vehicle was inventoried prior to being towed for no licensed driver. During the subsequent search of the vehicle approximately 10 pounds of marihuana and $3700. Dollars in U.S. currency was located. Both Kidd and Blair were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, were they were subsequently charged with:  

  • Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd degree; a Class D Felony (Kidd and Blair)
  • Unlawful Possession of Marihuana; a Violation (Kidd and Blair)
  • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree; a class A Misdemeanor (Kidd and Blair)
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree; a class A Misdemeanor (Blair only)
  • Resisting Arrest; a class A Misdemeanor (Blair only)
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations; (Kidd only)

Both Kidd and Blair were arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown Court. No bail amount or return court date available at this time.
