Pennsylvania tractor trailer driver arrested for drug possession

On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, the New York State Police arrested 45-year-old Harrisburg, Pennsylvania resident Tony E. Williams for criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and unlawful possession of marijuana following a commercial motor vehicle safety inspection. At approximately 8:45 am, Williams tractor trailer was pulled in for a safety inspection where the inspecting trooper detected an odor of marijuana. Further investigation found Williams to be in possession of marijuana and un-prescribed pills that were a schedule 4 controlled substance. The safety inspection found 20 driver violations, three of which were out of service, and 7 vehicle violations, one being out of service.
Williams was taken in to custody and transported to the Fonda State Police barracks where he was processed without incident. He was then taken to the Town of Mohawk court and was remanded to the Montgomery county jail on $1000 cash or $5000 bond and scheduled to return to the Town of Glen court at a later date.
