On February 28, 2018, the New York State Police and the Oneonta Police Department executed a search warrant at 236 Southside Drive in the town of Oneonta, Otsego County. Subsequent to the execution of the search warrant, approximately six grams of cocaine valued at $600, $2,193 in cash, a digital scale and drug packageing material were seized.
As a result of the investigation, the Oneota Police Department arrested Gloria J. Eichler, age 51, of Oneonta, NY, for Conspiracy 4th Degree (a Class E Felony), and Darius J. Baker, age 19, of New York, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree (a Class B Felony).
Eichler and Baker were arraigned in the town of Oneonta County Court. Eichler was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond. Baker was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 property bond.
The search warrant was the result of a two month long investigation conducted by members of the Oneonta Police Department, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, Troop C BCI and Troop C uniform members from SP Oneonta.
