Woman arrested after slashing man in the chest with a kitchen knife

PRESS RELEASE


(Middletown, NY – March 1, 2018) On February 28, 2018 at about 10:49 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Nicole Proper, age 42, of Middletown, NY for the felony of Assault 2nd degree and the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 

Proper was arrested after an argument with a victim at her residence.  An investigation determined that Proper raised a kitchen knife and slashed the victim on the chest during the argument.  The victim suffered superficial wounds.  As Proper and the victim struggled over another knife, a child in the home called 911. 

Proper was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility.  She is scheduled to appear in the Middletown Court on March 6, 2018
