Man arrested for DWI and multiple felony drug and gun charges, with five kids in the car

On March 3, 2018 at 11:38 p.m., Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested Alexander C. Ruof-Brown, 26 of Lockport, NY for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd C Felony, Criminal Possession of Stimulant C Felony, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated Leandra Law, Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th, Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, Endangering the Welfare of a Child-5 Counts, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration and numerous traffic tickets.

On March 3, 2018 at 10:43 p.m., Troopers received a call from Niagara County Sheriff’s Office for a report of reckless operation on Transit Road near Wendy’s/Walmart in the Town of Lockport called in by a uninvolved motorist.  Troopers located the 2016 Nissan speeding through a parking lot and performed a traffic stop on Ruhlman Road.  While interviewing the operator, Ruof-Brown the smell of alcoholic beverage was apparent. Ruof-Brown was administered SFST’s in which he failed. While placing Ruof-Brown under arrest he resisted and was subsequently taken into custody.  Ruof-Brown vehicle was occupied by five children from ages 2-9.  The children were turned over to family.  During the inventory of the vehicle a loaded handgun was located along with powder cocaine, over 82 grams of marijuana, numerous Alprazolam pills, digital scale and empty glassine baggies.

Niagara County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to obtain a Deputy that is a Drug Recognition Expert.  The evaluation was conducted and Ruof-Brown was deemed to be intoxicated with alcohol and depressants.  Ruof-Brown was processed at SP Lockport and arraigned in the town of Lockport Court.  Ruof-Brown was remanded to the Niagara County Jail.
