Rhode Island Woman Arrested on Check Fraud Charges

On Friday, March 2nd, 2018, Investigators based at the New York State Police Latham barracks arrested Brezenae Daniels, age 19, of Rhode Island.  Investigators say, Daniels possessed stolen checks, wrote them out to herself, before cashing them at area banks in both the City of Albany, and the Town of Bethlehem.  Daniels turned herself in to State Police on Friday morning, and was processed, and arraigned in the Albany City Court.  Daniels was charged with 4 felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, 4 counts of Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor, and 4 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th degree, a misdemeanor.  She was released to the supervision of Probation, and is scheduled to appear at a later date.
