Binghamton man arrested for unlicensed operation, drugs after traffic stop

PRESS RELEASE

(Union, NY – October 23, 2018) – On October 19, 2018 at approximately 11:52 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Christopher T. Wignall, age 47 of Binghamton, NY for the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree. 
 
A trooper patrolling East Main Street in Union observed Wignall operating a vehicle.  The trooper knew from previous encounters that Wignall does not have a valid driver’s license.  A traffic stop was initiated and when the trooper approached the vehicle, the passenger and Wignall had switched spots in the vehicle.  An investigation also revealed that Wignall was in possession of Hydrocodone Bitartrate.  He was subsequently arrested and released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Union Court on October 30, 2018.
