Bronx pair arrested for Possession of Khat and Brass Knuckles subsequent to a traffic stop

Samer A. Al-Ruhaimi   Mousa A. Naji 


Woodbury, NY – On October 27, 2018, at approximately 8:33 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the town of Woodbury for several vehicle and traffic violations. During the interview of the driver Samer A. Al-Ruhaimi, age 32, of Bronx, NY for the traffic violations probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. During the search of the vehicle and its passenger Mousa A. Naji, age 31, of Bronx, NY approximately 619.4 grams of Khat, (1) set of brass knuckles were located.  Both men were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh where they were subsequently charged with:   
 

  • Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance 4th degree; a Class C Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree; a Class B Felony    
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations (Al-Ruhaimi only)  

 
 
Both subjects were arraigned in the Town of Monroe Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1000. Cash or $5,000. Bond. A return court date of November 2, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. has been set in the Town of Woodbury Court.
