On October 30, 2018, at approximately 12:55 a.m. State Police conducted a traffic stop on Cumberland Head Road in the town of Plattsburgh on a 2017 Volkswagon Jetta, for failure to keep right.
 
The driver, 26-year-old Rosalie Basser of Quebec, Canada, was subsequently arrested for DWI. She was also found with open containers of alcohol within the vehicle. Her blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.13%. Basser was charged with DWI and further ticketed for failure to keep right, failure to maintain lane, and consumption of alcohol within a motor vehicle. Basser was released with tickets returnable to the Plattsburgh Town Court.
