On Tuesday evening, October 30, 2018, the State Police in Washington County conducted an undercover operation aimed at reducing the sale of alcohol to minors.  

Makayla M. Hudy, 24, of Granville, NY was charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st degree, a Misdemeanor, after she sold an alcoholic beverage to a 17-year-old. The sale took place at the Beverage Warehouse located on Quaker Street in the Village of Granville, NY.  Ms.  Hudy is scheduled to appear in Granville Village Court on November 27, 2018.

An 18-year-old employee of the Cumberland Farms in the Village of Whitehall, NY was also arrested for Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st degree.  The employee sold an alcoholic beverage to a 17-year-old and is scheduled to appear in Whitehall Village Court on November 14, 2018.

The New York State Police would like to thank all the businesses that continue to comply with New York’s laws governing the sale of alcohol to minors.  The efforts of our local businesses have an impact on alcohol related crashes in our communities and save lives.
