Pair of juveniles arrested for Possessing a Stolen Vehicle after pursuit with New York State Police

Canajoharie, NY - On November 1, 2018, at approximately 2:22 a.m., State Police received a (BOLO) be on the lookout for a reported erratic vehicle in the area of I-90, village of Canajoharie. State Police observed the vehicle and attempting to effect a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle sped away and a short pursuit was initiated. After a short distance the pursuit ended due to the suspect’s vehicle being involved in a property damage accident. The driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incident. Both males were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation, after being released from the hospital they were transported to SP Fultonville and processed. They were subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree; a Class E Felony 

Both juvenile males were issued appearance tickets for Montgomery County Family Court and released to parents. A return Family Court date of November 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. has been set for Montgomery County Family Court. No injuries reported, no other vehicles involved. Additional charges possible.
