Plattekill, NY – On January 3, 2019 at approximately 1:38 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the Town of Plattekill for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.  Subsequent to interviewing the driver, Jeremy T. Hudson, age 25, of Philadelphia, NY, it was determined that the unregistered 2013 Hyundai Elantra was stolen out of Philadelphia, PA.  Hudson gave consent to search the vehicle and while State Police conducted an inventory, a loaded Glock 37 handgun was discovered.  Both Hudson and his passenger, Marlaina L. Lucas, age 27, of Philadelphia, PA, were taken into custody and transported to SP Newburgh where they were subsequently charged with the following:
 
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree; a Class C Felony
  • Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree; a Class E Felony
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child; a Class A Misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violations (Hudson only)
 
A 12-year-old child who was also in the vehicle, was transported to SP Newburgh where she was turned over to the care of Child Protective Services.  Both Hudson and Lucas were arraigned before the Town of Plattekill Court.  Hudson was remanded to Ulster County Jail without bail.  Lucas was remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.  A return court date of January 7, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. has been set.
