On January 10th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Michael Austin, 38, of Cassadaga, for Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.

The Troopers responded to a residence in Sinclairville for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that during an argument, Austin broke a cell phone and interrupted the victim’s breathing process by placing her in a headlock. While being searched after being placed under arrest, the Troopers located methamphetamine and a Subutex pill on Austin’s person. Austin was processed at SP Jamestown and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment.
