Oxford man arrested for assault

PRESS RELEASE

On July 14, 2019 at approximately 4:20 a.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Tavish W. Braman, age 32 of Oxford, NY for the misdemeanor of Assault in the third degree.

Troopers were dispatched to driveway on State Highway 220 in the town of McDonough.  They observed an intoxicated male laying on the ground of a driveway.  A victim told troopers that they were giving Braman a ride from a bar due to his level of intoxication.  The victim told troopers that Braman accused the victim of taking his keys and punched the victim in face and head.  The victim, fell on ground and Braman continued to strike victim. 

The victim was taken to Chenango Memorial Hospital and Braman was taken to the hospital due to his level of intoxication and later released.  He was arraigned in the town of German court and remanded to Chenango County Jail on $1000 cash bail or $2500 bond.  His next court date is in the town of McDonough court on August 15, 2019.  An order of protection was issued to the victim.
