Peru man arrested for Felony DWI

On August 8, 2019, at approximately 6:30 p.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on Brand Hollow Road in the town of Peru for a vehicle speeding (63 mph in a posted 50 mph zone).  The operator, Shane M. Fordham, 27, of Peru, was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. His blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.19%. Fordham was found to have a prior conviction for DWI and as a result he was charged with Felony Aggravated DWI. Fordham was further ticketed for speed in zone. He was arraigned at the Peru Town Court and remanded to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail, or $2,000 bond.
