Connecticut woman arrested for Leandra’s Law DWI following a traffic stop on the Thruway.

Mamaroneck, NY – On August 11, 2019, at approximately 1:33 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-95 for a vehicle and traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle, Elizabeth F. Rich, 35, of Madison, CT, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with a 5-year-old and 8-year-old child.  Rich was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Tarrytown.   The children were turned over to a responsible party.   
Rich’s blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.15% and she was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Vehicle; a Class E Felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child; a Class A Misdemeanor and several Vehicle and Traffic Violations.  She was released to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Mamaroneck Court on September 5, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
