Chester, NY man arrested for fleeing a police officer and reckless driving on the Thruway.

Orangetown, NY – On October 5, 2019, at approximately 7:15 p.m., State Police attempted to stop a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Orangetown for a vehicle and traffic violation.  The driver failed to comply and began weaving through traffic.  After a brief pursuit, the vehicle pulled over and Troopers identified the driver as Joshua E. Grant, 21, of Chester, NY.  During a probable cause search, approximately 10 grams of marijuana was located in the vehicle. 
 
Grant was taken into custody and transported to SP Tarrytown where he was subsequently charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor, Reckless Driving; an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Reckless Endangerment; a Class B Misdemeanor, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana; a Violation, and Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
 
Grant was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Orangetown Court on October 23, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
