Albany man arrested for possessing a forged check

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) stationed at SP Latham and New York State Troopers stationed at SP New Scotland arrested a 36-year-old Albany man for the Class D Felony of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second degree and the Class A Misdemeanor of Attempted Grand Larceny in the fourth degree.   

Michael A. Wood II was arrested after an investigation revealed that on July 12, 2019, he possessed and attempted to cash a counterfeit check at a bank located in the Town of Bethlehem. The checked was forged to indicate the amount of $2,989.16.
Wood was processed at SP Latham and was arraigned in the Bethlehem Town Court.
