Albany man leads police on chase in stolen vehicle

On November 5, 2019, State Police arrested 21-year-old Mazai Y. Thompson-Goggins of Albany, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 2nd degree (C felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree (A misdemeanor), Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree (A misdemeanor), and Unlawful fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree (A misdemeanor).
Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle pursuit was initiated in the City of Albany after Thompson-Goggins was observed operating a 2018 Dodge Challenger that had been reported stolen from DeNooyer Chevrolet in the Town of Colonie. He refused to comply with attempts to stop his vehicle, and was pursued onto I-90.
Thompson-Goggins ultimate collided with a light post on Erie Blvd. in the City of Schenectady and was taken into custody. A search of his person revealed that he was also in possession of a switchblade knife.
Thompson-Goggins was transported to SP Princetown for processing and arraigned in Schenectady City Court. He was remanded to Schenectady County Jail on a parole violation.
