Peru man arrested after trespassing

On November 6, 2019, at approximately 6:02 p.m., State Police responded to Cayea Road in the town of Peru for a report of a trespass. A New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Officer was also on scene, investigating report of unlawful hunting. An investigation revealed that 31-year-old Adam W. Martineau of Peru was trespassing and hunting in the area of 30 Cayea Road. Martineau was also found in possession of a shotgun, which he cannot possess due to being a convicted felon.
 
Martineau was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree (A misdemeanor) and Trespass (violation). He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Peru Court.
