Jamaica, NY pair arrested for felony drug possession following a traffic stop on the Thruway.

Woodbury, NY – On November 6, 2019, at approximately 11:15 p.m., State Police stopped a car on I-87 in the town of Woodbury for a vehicle and traffic violation.  While interviewing the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle and the occupants was established.  The driver, Jose E. Flores, 43, and the passenger Carlos J. Cruz Garcia, 23, both of Jamaica, NY, were found to be in possession of approximately 21.3 grams of cocaine. 
 
The pair were taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Newburgh where they were both charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell 3rd degree; both Class B Felonies.  Flores was also issued Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
 
Both men were arraigned before the Town of Woodbury Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.  No return court date available at this time.
