UPDATE: State Police ask for the public's assistance in identifying an individual involved in a larceny

UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as Mark G. Wood, 57, of Dannemora. On November 22, 2019, Wood was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, and Criminal Tampering 3rd degree.  He was released on appearance tickets returnable to Long Lake Town Court on December 5, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.

The State Police wish to thank members of the public who called and assisted in this investigation.

Original release: On November 8, 2019, State Police responded to a report of a larceny and criminal mischief to a hunting tree stand located in Handsome Pond Hunting Club, off of State Route 30 in Long Lake.
 
An investigation revealed that on October 12, 2019, an unknown white male tampered with a tree stand and then stole two memory cards from trail cameras that were affixed in the area of the hunting club. The male is described as a white male with a stocky build. He has a white mustache and white hair.  The male was wearing a bright orange hooded sweatshirt, camouflage baseball hat, jeans, boots, gloves and sunglasses.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Alex Stuart at SP Tupper Lake, (518) 873-2750.
