PRESS RELEASE
On October 9, 2020, troopers out of SP Elma arrested Melissa A. Vansteenburgh, age 44, of the town of Aurora NY, for Felony Driving While Intoxicated under Leandra’s Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Vansteenburgh was stopped on Bullis Rd in the town of Marilla after troopers observed her failing to maintain her lane. During the traffic stop troopers detected the odor of alcohol. Vansteenburgh was given standard field sobriety tests which she failed. Vansteenburgh had a passenger in the vehicle under the age of 16 and was subsequently arrested for Felony DWI under Leandra’s Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was transported to SP Elma where she refused to provide a breath sample. Vansteenburgh was printed, photographed and processed. She was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Marilla Court on 10/27/20 at 6:00P.M.
