On June 23, 2020, State Police in Sand Lake arrested 46-year-old Andrea H. Amanatides of Ballston Spa, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (D felony) and six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree (A misdemeanor).

State Police stopped Amanatides for a series of traffic infractions as she traveled on State Route 150 in the town of Sand Lake on Tuesday afternoon. When the Trooper interviewed Amanatides, they observed signs indicative of drug use. A search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed that Amanatides was in possession of approximately 2 grams of crack cocaine and multiple glassine baggies of heroin. She was also in possession of multiple tablets of amphetamine, alprazolam, oxycontin, and a quantity of MDMA.  

Amanatides was taken into custody and transported to SP Sand Lake for processing. She was issued an appearance ticket for Sand Lake Town Court on August 10, 2020 at 5:00p.m.
