Update: November 11, 2020, the New York State have executed multiple search warrants stemming from the investigation launched after the November 9, 2020, arrest of Madison A. Kreutzer.
Further investigation will be directed by the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.
Thanks to the support of our law enforcement partners the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Environmental Conservation Police, Columbia-Greene SWAT, and the Columbia County 911 Department this dangerous situation was brought to a successful conclusion in which no one was injured.
The State Police would like to add to the public that there is no additional threat to public safety as result of this incident.
Initially Troopers responded to Doodletown Road for a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival to the scene, the subject later identified as, Madison A. Kreutzer, age 34, of Hudson, NY, discharged a firearm at the responding Troopers.
Kreutzer then barricaded herself in a residence before eventually surrendering. She was taken into custody without further incident.
This investigation remains ongoing.
