Belfast man arrested for attack in Caneadea

On September 2, 2019, SP Amity Troopers arrested Nolan J. Cox, 24, of Belfast, NY for Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, and Concealing, Altering, or Destroying Physical Evidence.

Troopers responded to a report of a male who had been stabbed at a residence on Crawford Creek Road in the town of Caneadea. Their investigation revealed Cox had displayed what appeared to be a gun and demanded money before stabbing the victim with a knife, disposing of the knife, and fleeing the scene.

Cox was arrested and arraigned in Caneadea Town Court, where he remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond. He is due to reappear in the same court later this month.
