Belfast man arrested for burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, other charges

On April 28, 2019, SP Amity Troopers arrested Mackenzie M. Cox, 18, of Belfast, NY for Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, two counts of Petit Larceny, Harassment 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Alcohol by a Person Under 21, and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle break-in on West Hughes Street in the village of Belfast and determined Cox had stolen several items from a vehicle and a residence on West Hughes Street.

Cox was arrested and arraigned in Friendship Town Court, where he was remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. He is due to appear in Belfast Town Court in May.
