Belfast woman arrested for DWAI-Drugs in Angelica

On April 19, 2019, SP Amity Troopers arrested Kristina L. Slack, 38, of Belfast, NY for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated DWI: With a Child in the Vehicle, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and several traffic violations.

Troopers investigating a report of a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Park Circle and West Main Street in the village of Angelica, observed Slack, the operator of the vehicle, exhibiting obvious signs of impairment. She admitted to having taken several prescription drugs prior to operating the vehicle. Slack subsequently failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. She was arrested and transported to SP Amity, where a chemical breath test revealed her to have a 0.00% BAC. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluation revealed her to be impaired.

Slack was released with appearance tickets for Angelica Village Court, where she is due to appear later this month.
