Belmont woman arrested for felony DWAI-Drugs in Scio

On November 19, 2020, SP Amity Troopers arrested Melissa A. Farley, 37, of Belmont, NY for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs – Previous Conviction Within Ten Years and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree.

During a traffic stop on State Route 19 in the town of Scio, Troopers determined Farley had been operating a vehicle while in an impaired condition. She failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Farley was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where she refused to submit to either a chemical breath test or a Drug Recognition Expert evaluation.

Farley was arraigned in Allegany County Court and released on her own recognizance. She is due to appear in Scio Town Court in December.
