PRESS RELEASE
On March 3, 2020, at approximately 2:15 p.m. State Police responded to a report of an assault with a baseball bat in the parking lot of Kinneys, located at 112 New York Road in the town of Plattsburgh.
An investigation revealed that 36-year-old Tonya R. Serano of Black Brook, assaulted the victim by striking her in the face with an aluminum baseball bat, then fled the scene. The victim declined medical attention.
Serano was located at her residence and arrested. She was charged with one count of Attempted Assault 2nd degree (D felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree (A misdemeanor). She was arraigned in the Town of Plattsburgh Court and released on her own recognizance. An order of protection was issued to the victim.
State Police were assisted by the City of Plattsburgh Police Department.
