On January 24, 2020, State Police in Mayfield arrested 32-year-old Nicholas J. Watson of Broadalbin, for two counts of Leandra’s Law (E felony) and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A misdemeanor).
Watson was stopped by State Police shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, after it was observed that his inspection was out of date as he travelled down State Route 30a in Gloversville.
When a Trooper spoke with Watson, they observed signs of intoxication. Watson was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed, and was taken into custody. There were two children under the age of 16 in the vehicle with Watson at the time of the stop, they were turned over to a guardian.
Watson was transported to SP Mayfield where he provided breath sample of .13% B.A.C. He was issued an appearance ticket for Johnstown Town Court on February 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
