Yonkers, NY – On October 25, 2020, at approximately 8:35 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the city of Yonkers.  After interviewing the driver, Rajpaul Ramlal, 52, of Bronx, NY, he was found to be intoxicated and had a revoked license.  Ramlal was arrested and transported to SP Tarrytown where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .21%. 


Additionally, Ramlal has two prior DWI convictions within the last 10 years and is required to operate a vehicle with an ignition interlock device.  As a result, he was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; a Class D Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree; a Class E Felony, Operating a Motor Vehicle with no Ignition Interlock Device; a Class A Misdemeanor, and several Vehicle and Traffic Violations.


Ramlal was released to a sober third party with appearance tickets returnable to the City of Yonkers Court on November 20, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
