Poughkeepsie, New York – On January 20, 2021 the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Carlos F. Mota, age 30, of Bronx, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, both class B felonies, Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class E felony, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, and Resisting Arrest, both class A misdemeanors.
At approximately 2:40 a.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 Honda CRV on Page Park Drive in the town of Poughkeepsie for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Investigation determined Mota was in possession of what was later weighed as approximately 41.8 grams of cocaine. Mota resisted arrest and attempted to flee on foot as well as destroy the drug evidence. After a brief struggle Mota was taken into custody.
Mota was arraigned before the town of Milan Court and released to the supervision of probation. Mota is next scheduled to appear before the town of Poughkeepsie Court at 2:00 p.m.
