 Troop G Commander

On October 10, 2019, State Police in Queensbury arrested 25-year-old Angel A. Maysonet of Bronx, NY, for Unlawful Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree (A misdemeanor) and multiple vehicle and traffic infractions.
At approximately 9:59 a.m. a black 2014 Mercedes-Benz four-door sedan was observed speeding south on the Adirondack Northway in the area of exit 26. The Trooper that initially observed the vehicle attempted to catch up to it to initiate a traffic stop. The operator increased their speed to approximately 133 mph and the Trooper lost sight of the vehicle.
A second unit that was located between exits 19 and 20 observed the vehicle continuing to travel southbound at a high rate of speed. The Trooper attempted to stop the vehicle. The operator increased their speed to approximately 131 mph and the Trooper pursued the vehicle before terminating the chase due to traffic conditions in the area of the Glens Falls Rest Stop. The pursuit lasted approximately 1 minute.
The operator of the vehicle exited I-87 at exit 17N, lost control of the vehicle, and left the roadway coming to rest in a swampy area. The three occupants fled from the vehicle, but later returned and were taken into custody. No injuries were reported.
The operator, Angel Maysonet, was charged and transported to Warren County Jail for centralized arraignment at 5:30 p.m. The other two occupants were released.
