Bronx resident arrested for driving stolen vehicle with fraudulent vehicle identification number

Queens, New York – On the evening of Monday, February 20, 2023, troopers from SP Bronx arrested Djibril Toure, age 21, of Bronx, New York, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3^rd Degree – a class D felony, and Illegal Possession of a Vehicle Identification Number – a class E felony.

The troopers were patrolling the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge and conducted a traffic stop on a 2020 BMW 330i, operated by Toure, for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. The investigation revealed the vehicle to be stolen, also displaying fraudulent vehicle identification numbers in multiple locations of the vehicle, and Toure was subsequently arrested.

Toure was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3^rd Degree, Illegal Possession of a Vehicle Identification Number and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in the 3^rd Degree. Toure was remanded to Queens Central Booking pending arraignment.
