Bronx resident arrested for driving vehicle with stolen license plate

Queens, New York – On the morning of Wednesday, February 22, 2023, troopers from SP Rockaways arrested Anthony Steakin, age 30, of Bronx, New York, for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5^th Degree – a class A misdemeanor.

The troopers were patrolling the Cross Bay Bridge and conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Dodge Caravan, operated by Steakin, for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. The investigation revealed the license plate on the vehicle to be stolen, and Steakin was subsequently arrested.

Steakin was issued a desk appearance ticket for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5^th Degree returnable to Queens County Criminal Court on March 14, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
