PRESS RELEASE
Suffern, NY – On January 9, 2021, at approximately 2:20 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the village of Suffern, for multiple vehicle and traffic violations. During the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Sienna van, was reported stolen out of New York City.
The driver, Carmelo C. Murray, 35, of Brooklyn, NY, did not have permission to possess the vehicle and could not provide the owner’s name. He was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Tarrytown where he was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree; a Class E Felony.
Murray was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Suffern Court on February 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
