Brooklyn resident arrested for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument

Staten Island, New York - On the morning of Thursday, February 16, 2023, troopers from SP Rockaways arrested Wai K. Chau, age 52, of Brooklyn, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree - a class D felony.

 

The troopers were patrolling near the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and conducted a traffic stop on a 2022 Toyota Sienna, operated by Chau, for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. The investigation revealed Chau to be in possession of a fraudulent vehicle license plate, and he was subsequently arrested.

 

Chau was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 3rd Degree - a class A misdemeanor, and remanded to Richmond County Central Booking pending arraignment.
