Buffalo, NY – On May 3, 2022, at approximately 8:53 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 33 in the city of Buffalo for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.   The driver, Andre J. Steward, 33, of Buffalo, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  While Troopers attempted to take him into custody, Steward resisted arrest.  After a brief struggle Troopers placed Steward in the patrol car where he was transported and processed at SP Buffalo.  Steward’s blood alcohol content was determined to be .20%. 

Additionally, Steward has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and as a result, he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; both Class E Felonies.  He was also charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree; both Class A Misdemeanors. 

Steward was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the City of Buffalo Court on May 16, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.
