On August 2, 2019, State Police in Queensbury arrested 49-year-old James A. McMahon of Lake George, for felony Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree, and Criminal Mischief 4th degree.


Just after 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, State Police responded to the area of the Villager Motel in Lake George for a report of an erratic driver. When a patrol arrived, they were immediately flagged down by bystanders and observed that the one of the motel’s cottages had been damaged by a vehicle. Troopers located the operator of the vehicle, James McMahon, in one of the motel rooms a short time later. He displayed obvious signs of intoxication and was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed. McMahon was taken into custody and transported to SP Queensbury where he provided a breath sample of .27% B.A.C.


McMahon was arraigned in Lake George Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on August 8, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
