PRESS RELEASE
 
On July 30th, 2021, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Matthew Cassatt, 45, of Cassadaga, for Assault 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree.
 
The Troopers responded to the Valley Shack in Sinclairville for a reported assault. Upon arrival, the Troopers observed the victim with an obvious eye injury and a broken car window. Investigation revealed that the victim arrived at Valley Shack for the purpose of discussing business equipment with Cassatt. Immediately afterward, Cassatt threatened to attack the victim, then pushed and punched him. The victim was chased back to his vehicle where Cassatt slammed the door on the victim several times. Once inside the vehicle, Cassatt struck the driver’s window, causing it to shatter. Cassatt then fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Cassatt was placed under arrest, processed at SP Jamestown and released with appearance tickets. Cassatt is scheduled to appear in the town of Gerry Court on a later date.  The victim was treated for his injury a local hospital.
