On April 17, 2021, at approximately 4:42 p.m., State Police responded to a report of an individual shooting an air rifle from a window near the intersection of Main Street and Cedar Street in the village of Champlain.  An investigation revealed that 28-year-old Alexander E. Boire of Champlain, was shooting an air rifle from his apartment window on Main Street. This had caused damages to stop signs in the area as well as a neighboring building. Boire was charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd degree. He was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Champlain Court.

State Police were assisted by the Clinton County Sheriff Department.
