On September 17, 2019, State Police arrested 26-year-old Thomas J. Bennett of Chestertown, for the Class A misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, Unlawful Imprisonment 4th degree, Menacing 2nd degree, and endangering the Welfare of a Child.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, State Police were contacted by the victim of a domestic dispute that had taken place in a residence in the town of Chester. The victim reported that they had been in an argument with Thomas Bennett during which he held them down, refusing to let them leave a bedroom, and menaced them with a knife. The incident took place while there were children present.
Bennett turned himself in at the SP Chestertown barracks, where he was charged and processed. He was arraigned in Chestertown Town Court.
