On Wednesday September 11, 2019, State Police arrested 28-year-old Jonathan M. Smith of Clifton Park, for Burglary 3rd degree ( D felony), Petit Larceny ( A misdemeanor), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child ( A misdemeanor).
 
On Thursday afternoon, Troopers responded to the Walmart in Halfmoon for a report of a larceny. When they arrived, they found Jonathan Smith loading over $180 worth of goods that he had not paid for, into his car. Smith had entered Walmart after previously receiving a Notice of Restriction from Property advising him he is no longer allowed on Walmart property.
 
Smith also had a young child with him while committing the larceny. Smith was taken into custody and transported to SP Clifton Park where he was processed. The child was released to a guardian.
 
Smith was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond. He is due back in court on September 25, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.
