On October 30, 2019 State Police in Schodack arrested 22-year-old Samantha L. Bergdall of Coeymans, for Identity Theft 1st dgree (D felony), Grand Larceny 3rd degree (D felony), and Criminal Impersonation 2nd degree (A misdemeanor).

Bergdall is accused of using the personal information of an associate to take out over $8,200 worth of loans in their name.

It is alleged that Bergdall had over $5,000 of loan money deposited into the victim’s checking account, which she had access to, and then withdrew the money over a two week period. She also secured a $3,127 line of credit in the victim’s name.

Bergdall turned herself in at SP Schodack after seeing that she had been posted on the New York State Police’s Facebook page under Warrant Wednesday. She was arraigned in Schodack Town Court and is due back at a later date.
