Cold Case Tuesday: Troop L continues to investigate 24-year-old death of Wilbert Corona.

The New York State Police, Troop L, SP Brentwood continues to investigate the 1996 death of a man found in Suffolk County.

The body of Wilbert Corona, 25, of Elmhurst, Queens, was found on January 24, 1996 on the Northern State Parkway, in Suffolk County.

On that date, the New York State Police were dispatched to the report of a possible body in the wood line along the westbound side of Northern State Parkway, about a half mile west of Veteran’s Memorial Highway. 

An investigation revealed Wilbert Corona was last seen before Christmas 1995 with his cousin, Darvin Beltre.  Beltre is believed to be currently living in the Dominican Republic.
