Queens, New York – On Sunday, July 18, 2021 at approximately 12:25 a.m., Troopers from SP Wards Island arrested Brian T. Pace, age 44, of Derby, Connecticut, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree – a class C felony, Driving While Intoxicated – an unclassified misdemeanor and Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree – a class A misdemeanor.
The Troopers were patrolling the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge and conducted a vehicle stop on a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, operated by Pace, for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Pace was arrested after the investigation into the incident revealed him to be impaired by alcohol and in criminal possession of a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9, which was concealed in his waistband.
Pace was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree. He was remanded to Queens Central Booking pending arraignment.
