PRESS RELEASE
 

On October 7, 2022, New York State Police at Marathon arrested Michael A. Grossi, age 37 of Cortland, NY for the class “D” felony of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, the misdemeanor of Menacing in the second degree and the Environmental Conservation Law misdemeanor of Illegal Discharge of a Firearm. 

Troopers and deputies from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a report that Grossi was threatening people on Tower Road in the town of Cortlandville and that he had also fired a shotgun. 

After an investigation on scene, Grossi was arrested and transported to SP Homer. Grossi was later transported to Cortland County Jail for Centralized Arraignment and Processing.  The victims were issued an order of protection by a judge. 

On October 11, 2022, New York State Police at Marthon arrested Grossi for violating the order of protection that was issued just a few days prior.   He was issued appearance tickets to the Virgil Town Court on November 8, 2022.
